Hello,
a bit about me...
Decades of travel to over 30 countries has given me a deep appreciation for textiles and their history. Originally from Vancouver, Canada, I have lived in Australia, the UK, and now reside in New York City.

I make handspun yarns with wool from rare breed (endangered) sheep, plant fibers, and reclaimed & upcycled materials.
I have taught handspinning for guilds, the MidAtlantic Fiber Association, and the John C Campbell Folk School and have published articles in Ply Magazine and Shuttle, Spindle & Dyepot. My focus is on sustainability - did you know that the textile industry is one of the most polluting on the planet? I offer talks on how guilds can become more eco friendly.

I am on the board of the Handweavers Guild of America and I'm a member of the New York Guild of Handweavers and the Philadelphia Guild of Handweavers. I also volunteer with the MidAtlantic Fiber Association's virtual programming - I co-host MAFA Movie Night with Kate Ohara.
And I also teach very gentle chair yoga via Zoom; I taught at the MidAtlantic Fiber Association Conferences in 2019, 2021, and 2023. My classes are especially suitable for those who practice fiber arts, counteracting the tendency towards poor posture. For more about my yoga teaching, CLICK HERE to visit my website.
Textiles & Tea
200th episode
The Handweavers Guild of America offers Textiles & Tea as a free program - you don't need to be an HGA member to enjoy these fiber artist interviews! Will you help us reach our goal of 200 donations of $200 each in time for our 200th episode on November 12th?
